PTU- Lucky Little Ladybug

*Click for bigger

This tutorial will seem lengthy, but we're making a 3-piece set.
I promise the banner & avi are quickies.;)

This tutorial is borne from my own manipulated lil' mind.
Any similarity to any other tutorial(s) is purely coincidental.
This tutorial was written for those who have a working knowledge of PSP
and was written using PSP XI, tho' any version should work.

Supplies Needed:
Scrapkit: the adorable Ladybug Garden kit from Tasha's Playground.
This kit is Exclusive to PTE.
Tube: I'm using the lovely artwork of René Kunert, named Ladybug.
You can find this & many more at Rebel-Dezigns.
Do NOT use this artwork unless you have a license to do so
& have purchased the tube.
Templates: Ladybug set which you can download from me, here.
Filters: Xero- Radiance
Xero- Porcelain
Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow
Font: MilkyWell
Drop shadow used in this tutorial is 1 4 40 4.
Save your progress often.

Let's do this! =)

We're going to start with the tag first.;)
Open up the tag template. Duplicate it & close original.
Delete the credit layer.
Working from the bottom layer of the template, up:
On the rounded rec, Select all- float. Defloat- Invert.
Delete this layer & paste paper3, resized 70%.
Hit delete & select none.
Crop to canvas & add a drop shadow.

Circle base- Select all- float. Defloat- Invert.
Delete this layer & paste paper9, resized 70%.
Hit delete & select none.
Crop to canvas & add a drop shadow.

Main rec- Select all- float. Defloat- Invert.
Delete this layer & paste paper1, resized 70%.
Hit delete & select none. Crop to canvas. Drop shadow.

Main frame- colourise to red & add a drop shadow.
Flower centre- leave as is.
Flower petals- recolour yellow.
Add a drop shadow, but tick the box to add it to its own layer.
Then with your eraser, erase the shadow inside the flower.

Next, merge box 3 down onto box 2 & then merge down onto box 1.
Select all- float. Defloat- Invert. Delete this layer.
Then paste paper4. Hit delete & keep selected.
Next, copy & paste your tube in all 3 boxes,
hitting delete each time. Select none.
* Go back & erase the excess tubes on each of the layers.
Crop to canvas. Apply Xero Radiance to all three tubes:
Then apply a drop shadow to each
(make sure to untick the box for it to be on a new layer).

Merge all three box frames down onto each other into one layer.
Adjust the colour to your own preferences & add some noise to it:
Uniform/ Monochrome/ 65% . Add a drop shadow.

Next paste your main tube. Resize as needed.
Position her over to the right.
Apply Xero- Porcelain at these settings:
Add a drop shadow.
Add a drop shadow to the word art background.

Now let's add some elements:
Copy & paste wind. Resize 80%.
Position it to the bottom right of the tag.
Sun- resize 55%. Position at the top right & drop shadow.

Make your flower petals layer active. Then copy & paste flowers-
Flip them. Position at the top of the circle. Add a drop shadow.

Copy & paste the basket. Resize 60%.
Position it by the main tube.
Drag this layer to just below the main tube layer
so it looks like the basket is on the other side. Drop shadow.
Copy & paste the boots. Mirror & resize 60%.
Place these on the other side of the basket
& drag this layer below the basket layer.
Add a drop shadow.

Copy & paste both the balloons.
Resize each 80%. Position like shown on the tag.
Give each a drop shadow.

Ribbon- Resize 60% & rotate 23 right.
Place over to the right of the tag on the edge of the rounded rec.
Add a drop shadow.

Flowermug- resize 75%.
Add to the center at the bottom of the tag.
Drop shadow.

Flower5- resize 75%.
Move to just below the top box on the left.
Duplicate & mirror. Move the other one below the second box
like in the above tag. Drop shadow both.

Copy & paste the first scatter in the kit. Resize 75%.
Add a drop shadow.
*Alternately, you can do as I did & paste the first ladybug,
resize, duplicate & scatter them about.;)

Highlight your flower petals layer in the layers palette.
Paste the scatters2 & resize 75%.
Position this so its on the left of the tag, under the boxes & box frames.
Duplicate it & on the duplicate, set the blend mode to Multiply at 80%.
Add a drop shadow to the bottom layer.

Now, crop/ resize the tag to your liking.
Next, add your proper copyrights & watermarks.
Now add your name. Give it a bevel:
Then add some ladybug dots, using the weave effect:
And of course, a gradient glow set at 3:
Lastly, add a drop shadow.
Delete the white background base layer at the bottom.
Merge all visible & save as a PNG.
This part is all done... now, onto the banner & avi.:)

Banner:
Open up the banner template.
Duplicate it & close original. Delete the credit layer.
Working from the bottom layer of the template, up:
Copy &  paste paper 1 above the background base layer.
Move the paper down a bit & to the right so the flowers don't show up. ;)
Crop to canvas & delete the background base layer.

Flower centre- Select all- float. Defloat- Invert.
Delete this layer & paste paper3, resized 50%.
Hit delete & keep selected.
Copy & paste your tube, resize 60%.
Use your eraser & erase the excess at the bottom & sides,
keeping her head above the center of the flower.
Select none. Crop to canvas.
Apply Xero radiance at the same settings we used for the tag.
Then add a drop shadow.

Colourise the flower petals yellow, matching your tag.
Duplicate the flower petals layer. Drag one layer below your tube.
On the layer above, erase the parts that cover the top of her head.
Add a drop shadow to the one below the tube,
make sure you have the box ticked to have the drop shadow
go on its own layer, so you can erase the shadow inside the flower,
like we did on the tag.

Add a drop shadow to the word art background.
Colourise the border to any colour you prefer.
Copy & paste your main tube. Resize 60%.
Position her to the right under the wordart, so it 'swirls' around her head.
Add the same Xero radiance & drop shadow.

Add the ladybug scatter. Resize 45% & position in the middle.
Sharpen & add a drop shadow.
Next, add the ladybug & resize 60%.
Position on one of the flower petals.
Sharpen & add a drop shadow.

Now, add your proper copyrights & watermarks.
Then add your name. Use the same bevel,
weave & gradient glow effects to it as the tag.
Merge all layers & save as a PNG.

Avi:
Open up the avi template. Duplicate it & close original. Delete the credit layer.
Working from the bottom layer of the template, up:
Delete the background base layer.

Flower centre- Select all- float. Defloat- Invert.
Delete this layer & paste paper3, resized 50%.
Hit delete & keep selected.
Copy & paste your tube resize 50- 60%.
Use your eraser & erase the excess at the bottom & sides,
keeping her head above the center of the flower.
Select none. Crop to canvas.
Apply Xero radiance at the same settings we used for the tag & banner.
Then add a drop shadow.

Colourise the flower petals to yellow, matching your banner.
Duplicate the flower petals layer. Drag one layer below your tube.
On the layer above, erase the parts that cover the top of her head.
Add a drop shadow to the one below the tube,
make sure you have the box ticked to have the drop shadow
go on its own layer, so you can erase the shadow inside the flower.

Then add the ladybug, resized at 35%.
Flip & position at the top. Add a drop shadow.
Delete the border layer.
Now, add your proper copyrights & watermarks.
Then add your initial. Use the same bevel,
weave & gradient glow effects to it as the banner & tag.
Merge all layers & save as a PNG.
You now have a lovely Ladybug 3-piece set. =)

I owe one to René Kunert, too:

I hope you had fun trying this tutorial.
I'd love to see your results. =)
