FTU- Owl And The Pussycat

*Click for bigger
I'd come across a new blog train while searching for something on Google.
I have to say, this one is fooking aww-dorable!
I love kitties & owls & love this tale, too,
so I had to make this tag.=)

This tutorial is borne from my own manipulated lil' mind.
Any similarity to any other tutorial(s) is purely coincidental.
This tutorial was written for those who have a working knowledge of PSP
and was written using PSP XI, tho' any version should work.

Supplies Needed:
Scrapkits:  Are from two adorable FTU kits, which you can find on the Dusk 2 Dawn Blogtrain
The main kit I'm using is from Nette's NightOwl Works
and the other is from DarkMoon's Dream (for the frame, ribbon & rose).
Tube: I'm using the always adorable artwork from Melissa Dawn, named Winter Moon Cat.
You can find this tube & others at CDO.
Do NOT use this artwork unless you have a license to do so
& have purchased the tube.
Mask: of choice
* Leave some love when downloading the kits. ;)

Filters: Xenofex 2: Constellation
Xero- Radiance
Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow
Font: Secret Recipe
Drop shadow used in this tutorial is 2 2 60 6, black.
Save your progress often.;)

Let's do this! =)

Open a new canvas, sized 650 px X 650 px.
Copy & paste d2dpaper21 from Nette's kit.
Apply mask of choice & merge group.
Apply Xenofex Constellation at these settings:

Next, copy & paste the frame from the DarkMoon's Dream kit.
Resize 65% & move it down a bit in your canvas.
With your magic wand, click inside the frame.
Modify & expand by 2 & invert.
Copy & paste d2dpaper9 from Nette's kit & resize 60%.
Hit delete. Keep selected & paste your tube or closeup.
Using your eraser, erase the excess at the bottom of your tube,
so that only the ears & parts of the wings stick out over the frame.
Select none & drag the paper layer below your frame in the layers palette.
Duplicate your frame layer & drag one below your tube.
On the top one, use your eraser to erase the top part of the frame,
so that the ears & parts of the wings stick out 'over' the frame.
Add a drop shadow to the bottom frame. Crop to canvas.
On your tube layer, apply Xero- Radiance at these settings:
Then add a drop shadow.

Add the ribbon from the DarkMoon's Dream kit.
Resize 50%. Position it at the top of the frame & mirror.
Add a drop shadow. Drag this layer below your tube in the layers palette.
* You may have to erase a little more of your top frame layer.;)

Next, copy & paste d2dwhootie, resizing him 20%.
Position him at the top of the frame. Sharpen & add a drop shadow.

Now add the d2dswirlflower. Resize 40% & sharpen.
Position on the bottom right of the frame.
Duplicate & mirror. Add a drop shadow to both.

Now, add the rose from the DarkMoon's Dream kit.
Resize 60% & mirror. Rotate 15 left & sharpen.
Position to the lower left of the frame. Add your drop shadow.
Drag this below the flower layers in the layers palette.

Now add the snail. Resize 17%.
Add a drop shadow & place him like in my example.

Next, add the d2dpeagreenboat. Resize 27%.
Place to the right of the frame. Add your drop shadow.

Add the d2dpuddle. Resize 35%. Position it so it is 'under' the boat.
Right click in your layers palette & send this to the bottom.
You can then drag it up above your mask layer.;)

Next, crop/ resize your tag to your own preferences.
Then, add your proper copyrights & watermarks.

Now, add your name & add a bevel to it:
Give it a gradient glow set at 3:
Then add a drop shadow.

Finally, merge visible & save as a PNG.

I hope you had fun trying this tutorial.
I'd love to see any of your results. =)
