PTU- Spring Kitten

*Click for bigger

This tutorial is borne from my own manipulated lil' mind.
Any similarity to any other tutorial(s) is purely coincidental.
This tutorial was written for those who have a working
knowledge of PSP and was written using PSP X2,
tho' any version should work.

Supplies Needed:
Scrapkit: I'm using a PTU kit from Tasha named
Those Spring Days. You can find more information
about this kit, here.

Tube: I'm using the always aww-dorable artwork of Melissa Dawn.
You can find more of this beautiful artwork at CDO.
Do not use this artwork unless you have a license to do so
& have purchased the tube.

Filters: Xero- Radiance
Eye Candy 4000- Gradient Glow

Font: Aquarelle

Drop shadow: 0 0 50 5, black
Save your progress often.;)

Let's do this! =)

For the tag:
Open a new canvas 600 X 200 px.
Copy & paste a paper of choice from the kit.

Now copy & paste your tube.
Duplicate & mirror. Merge down.
Duplicate the merged tube layer.
On the top one, add a Gaussian blur of 3.
Change the blend mode to Soft Light at 60%.
Change the blend mode of the bottom one to
Luminance (L) at 60%.

Next Select all. Modify- contract by 15.
Add a new layer & fill with a colour darker
than your paper layer. Select none.
Then on this layer, select all- float- defloat.
Modify- contract by 2. Hit delete & select none.
Add some noise to this layer:
Uniform/ Monochrome/ 60%.

Next, with your magic wand tool,
click inside this border layer.
Modify- expand by 1. Invert.
Copy & paste your tube or closeup.
Resize if needed & then position to the left.
Hit delete & select none.

Apply Xero- Radiance to this tube:
Then add a drop shadow to this layer & your border.

Now, copy & paste a couple flowers from the kit.
Resize them about 55- 60%.
Place them on the right of the tag by the border.
Add a drop shadow to both.

Next copy & paste butterfly2.
Resize 37%. Rotate 14 right. Sharpen.
Place on one of the flowers.
The drop shadow I used was
12 4 60 2, black.

Now, add a new layer.
Flood fill with the same colour you used
for the inside border. Select all. Modify- contract by 1.
Hit delete & select none.

Now add your proper copyrights & watermarks.

Now add your name in white.
Change the opacity to 60%.
Add a gradient glow at these settings:

Do not add a drop shadow to this layer.

Finally, merge visible & save as a PNG.

For the avi:
Open a new canvas 150 X 200 px.
Copy & paste the same paper of choice from the kit.
Resize about 60%.

Resize as needed.
Hit delete & select none.

Apply Xero- Radiance at the same settings
as used for the tag.
Then add a drop shadow to this layer
& your border.

Now, copy & paste a flower from the kit.
Resize about 50%.
Place on the left of the tag.
Erase the excess stem.
Then add a drop shadow.

Now, add a new layer.
Flood fill with the same colour you used
for the inside border.
Select all. Modify- contract by 1.
Hit delete & select none.

Now add your proper copyrights & watermarks.

Now add your name in white.
Change the opacity to 60%.
Add a gradient glow at the same settings
as the tag.
Do not add a drop shadow to this layer.

Finally, merge visible & save as a PNG.

I made an animated version of this set also:

The animation I used for the tag came from Lovey.
You can find the same animation here.
The one I used is named
whitesparkband-lovey10
You'll find it in the Sept. '10 folder.

On the tag, I closed all the layers except for the bottom 3.
I merged those visible & closed that layer.
I then reopened the other layers
& merged them visible.

Then I copy & pasted the bottom half of the tag
in Animation Shop.
For mine, I inserted frames.
(The animation I used has 14 frames):

Next on your animation, select all frames & copy.
On the bottom half of tag select all &
then hit the CTRL & E keys.
Then use your mouse to position it where
you want it & click to set it.

Once you're happy with the animation,
go back to PSP & copy the top
half of your tag.

Paste this in A.S.
Now, on the top of the A.S. program,
tick the propagate paste icon,
which is at the left on my example:
Make sure all frames are selected on the bottom
half of your tag.
Now, click on the top half & drag it onto your tag.
Once you have it positioned, click to set it.
When finished, save as a GIF & you're finished.

I hope you enjoy your kewt forum set
after trying this tutorial.

I'd love to see your results. =)
