Funeral Of Hearts 1 & 2- Revamped & Now At Mystical Scraps

"Love's the funeral of hearts
And an ode for cruelty
Where angels cry blood
On flowers of evil in bloom"

A bit over a week ago, I pulled both these kits
out of Pics For Design since all my HIM-spired kits
are going to be exclusive to Mystical Scraps.

At the time I'd joined the Mystical Scraps store-
when it first opened, in fact-
somehow the original FOH kits never made
it into the store- until now.

Instead of just adding them to the store,
I chose to update them & add to
them a bit to make them going 'home' more special. ;)

I ripped apart both kits & revamped each with
brand new papers, frames &  elements & adding more
to each than what was in the original kits, while still
maintaining the theme of each kit as I had originally
made them. Only a third of the original
kits remain within each zip file.

Funeral Of Hearts is the more symbolic kit,
based on the HIM song by the name.
It contains 20 papers, 80 elements & 6 frames
in soft blacks & golds. I have also included the gradient that
I used when creating the original kit.
You can now find it ONLY at Mystical Scraps.

Funeral Of Hearts 2- Revisited is the more
music-themed kit & is based on the song by
the same name. This is a revamped kit with all new papers,
elements & frames. It contains 20 papers, 80 elements & 6 frames
in soft blacks & golds. I have also included the gradient that I used
when creating the original kit.

You can now find it ONLY at Mystical Scraps.

I enjoy seeing your creations with my kits.
You can send them to me at:

PTU- Midnight Mermaid

*Click for bigger

This tutorial is borne from my own manipulated lil' mind.
Any similarity to any other tutorial(s) is purely coincidental.
This tutorial was written for those who have a working
knowledge of PSP and was written using PSP X1,
tho' any version should work.

Supplies Needed:
Scrapkit: I'm using the beautiful
Midnight Ocean kit from Tasha's Playground.
You can find more information on this kit & where to find it
on Tasha's blog, here.

Tube: I'm using the artwork of Anna Liwanag.
This is a PTU tube & you can find more
of her artwork here at CDO.
Do not use this artwork unless you have a license to do so
& have purchased the tube.

Mask: of choice

Filters: (optional) Photo Tools- Gradient Sky- Compliment
Eye Candy 4000- Gradient Glow

Font: Pea Meagan's Hand

Drop shadow: 3 3 55 10, black

Save your progress often.;)

Let's do this! =)

Open a new canvas 650 X 650 px.
Copy & paste a paper of choice into your canvas.
Apply your mask of choice & merge group.
Resize your mask if needed.

Now, copy & paste TP_MO_frame05.
Keep it in the center of the canvas.
With your magic wand, click inside the 2 outer frames.
Selections-Modify-Expand by 5. Invert.
Now copy & paste TP_MO_paper05
(or other 'scenic' paper of choice).
Hit delete & select none. Crop to canvas.
Move the paper below your frame in layers palette.
Now on your paper layer, apply
Photo Tools- Gradient Sky- Compliment
at these settings, if you want:
Do not add a drop shadow to the frame yet.
We'll come back. ;)

Next, copy & paste TP_MO_frame04.
Keep it centered where it's at.
With your magic wand, click inside the frame.
Selections-Modify-Expand by 5. Invert.
Now copy & paste TP_MO_paper05
(or the same 'scenic' paper you used before)
& resize about 60%.
Position in it in the frame how you want it,
so it somewhat lines up with the other paper.
Hit delete & keep selected.
Copy & paste your tube or closeup.
Resize it about 60% or as much as needed.
Position it so its in the lower right of frame.
Hit delete & select none.
Move both the paper & your tube below the
frame in your layers palette.
Add a drop shadow to this frame.

Duplicate your closeup.
On the top one, add a Gaussian Blur of 3.
Change your blend mode to Soft Light.
Then, on the bottom one, change the blend
mode to Luminance (L) & add a drop shadow.

Now add your main tube.
Resize it the best you can so the size
matches up with your closeup.
Place over your closeup tube.
Then, with your magic wand, make a
selection around the tube except the part
that over hangs into the left frame.
Hit delete & select none.
You should now only have the tail left. ;)

Now, go back to your first frame.
On the left side, click inside
with your magic wand. Invert only.
Then, move your 'tail' layer down in your
layers palette so it's just above the frame.
Then use your eraser to erase only the
top part of the tail at the top of the frame.
Select none.
Now add a drop shadow to your tail & frame.

Now we'll add some elements.
For each one, I added a drop shadow to,

Time For Some Awards....

I've been thinking about this a lot lately.
There seems that unfortunately there's always
some kind of negativity in the PSP Community
& it's just so sad to see. =/

So I want to do something to give some of us hope,
some of us a feeling of being loved & maybe
give us all something to smile about. =)

I know I've come across many blogs that
when scrolling through them just to look
at what the community used to be like,
I see these awards that used to go around
& how everyone who got them seemed
so happy & proud to receive them.

What happened to those days?
I think we need that again.
To bring something positive back
& maybe restore some faith for others.

So I have created two new awards I would
love to see going around on blogs-
for you all to be sharing & giving to each other
& maybe make someone's day. ;)

The first award I created is for the Designers.
This is for people to give to their favourite
designers who inspire them:
To say thank you for them sharing
so much of themselves & their talents in
so many ways with so many people.

For those who receive this award, please
pass the award on to five others who inspire you.
Let's keep this going for as long as we can.

I'm going to start:

Though my list is quite long,
there are some designers I feel
that not only inspire me, but who have
become friends I hold near & dear to my heart.
Words cannot express how grateful
I am for everything they do, all that they share
& the friendships I cherish.
So I'm sending this award out on it's maiden voyage
to the following designers
(in no particular order):

Tasha's Playground
Wicked Princess Scraps
Freek's Creations
Pink's Poetic Scraps
Scraps Dimensions

If you have received this award
(see it above),
please place on your blog & send the award
and some love to 5 designers you wish to give it to. ;)

Thank you for inspiring me! =)
*hugz*

This second award is for anyone
who you feel 'Rawks' your socks.
Again, this award is to say thank you
for them sharing with us & for their friendships.

Again, for those who receive this award, please
pass the award on to five others who you think rock.
Let's keep this going for as long as we can. ;)

I'm going to start this one on it's maiden voyage as well:

Though this list is longer still,
there are some people I feel who have
become friends I hold near & dear to
my heart & they really do rock.
Again words cannot express how grateful
I am for everything they do, all that they share
& the friendships that I cherish.
So I'm sending this award out to the following
people (in no particular order):

Belinda
Tragedy
Kelly
Corinna
Crystal

If you have received this award,
please place on your blog & send the award
and some love to 5 people you wish to give it to. ;)

Thank you for rawking my socks! =)
*hugz*

Now, before I close this post.
I am NOT expecting anyone to return the award to me.
Please pass it on to your friends & those who truly
inspire you. I want to see these awards on everyone's blogs.

FTU CU- Okay Basketball Templates

Back around March, I had made a special kit
for one of my CT members who happens to
LOVE basketball. =)

And when making her kit, I took it upon myself
to make my own scoreboard, hoop & basketball
for her kit. ....And I had every intention
on making them available for CU at some point.
But with being busy making kits, etc.
they kind of got pushed to the back-burner
until now.

Today, I broke into my special little folder
where I keep my 'own made' stuffs & took the
shaded templates I'd already made for myself & carefully
labelled the layers to each template & also made an unshaded
version for those who prefer to shade their own templates,
if they so choose.

* On a side note, there are a couple 'optional'
layers on the basketball hoop template,
depending on how you wish to modify
how the backboard & backboard frame looks. ;)

So this pack has two types of templates
for all three items in it-
a scoreboard, a basketball hoop & a basketball,
plus I've added a sample of each item as well.

These are full-sized for the most part.
The basketball hoop is about 1700 px tall
& the scoreboard is over 1500 px wide
& yes the samples are full-sized as well
& you may use them in your kits.;)

I hope some of you can find a use for them
& can enjoy them. As always, I don't claim any
of my CU products are spectacular by any means,
BUT! They are usable. =P

You can download this from me here:
Basketball Template Set

And, as always, your comments are very much
appreciated. =)

Tag Show- offs & Blog Layout

I thought I should maybe post some of my tags
I've made my kits as well & I also have a blog layout
I did for a friend, using one of my own kits. =)

But first I'll post my tags.
I promise there's no HIM tags this time,
but there is one HIM-spired FB cover.;)

It goes without saying to not take these tags
& alter/ change them nor claim them as your own.
Also, please do not try to recreate them without my permission.
These are only examples of my own work.
Thank you for understanding my rules about my tags. =)

The first tags I made were made
using my Little Flirt kit:

I made this tag with my Roller Doll kit:
And I made two tags with my Indulgence kit:

The following are Facebook covers I've made.
I also made matching profile pix,
but I'm not going to post those. LOL
This one was made with Bitches Be Trippin:
Made with Indulgence:
Made with Dark Light
...And yes, this is my HIM-spired cover:

Now as for the blog layout.
First of all, I normally do NOT do
blog layouts for anyone else.
I will do my own & that's pretty much it.
I just use the tools that come with Blogger
& my PSP.

I have Artisteer (or whatever it's called)
& refuse to use it, since I visit many blogs that
are designed with that & they just do NOT load
correctly or don't look right. >.<

Anyway, Alisha had asked me to make her a blinkie
for her blog. Again, this is something I rarely
ever do. And I made her this one:

I used my Stardust & Moonlight kit to make it.

She liked the blinkie & then asked me if I could
make her blog match it. Again, I only do my own blog,
BUT! I gave it a go & this is a screenshot of it:

You can see the layout on her blog here, too.
I actually love how it turned out. =)
And since I made her new clothes for her blog,
I also had to make her this matching siggy:

Thank you so much for looking. =)
